Foundation for a Shared Vision and Collaborative Action

On April 25, 2021, The Universe For All Initiative (TUFA) held its first Annual General Meeting at its temporary office in Mafinga, marking a significant step in organizing and strategizing for impactful community development.

The meeting, convened and facilitated by Acting CEO Nemes Temba, gathered founding members to deliberate on TUFA’s current status and chart the pathway forward through collective decision-making and task distribution. Over the course of the day, members introduced themselves, reviewed key governance documents including the Constitution and budget, and discussed strategic priorities and organizational structure.

Critical interim leadership roles were assigned: Denis Mungai as Acting Chairperson, Nemes Temba as Acting CEO, Aloyce Mnoga as Acting Director of Finance and Administration, Gabriel Mashambo as Acting Director of Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning, with other members filling key roles in fundraising, communication, IT, and program support. Members embraced a culture of flexibility and proactivity, supporting each other beyond defined roles to advance TUFA’s mission.

The group reaffirmed “Agriculture” as a core area of intervention among TUFA’s developmental focus, emphasizing commitment to broad impact even as strategic priorities evolve. Plans were set for regular monthly online meetings starting the last Sunday of each month and a forthcoming physical meeting following formal registration.

Membership fees were structured to support operational needs, with an initial payment plan followed by ongoing monthly contributions. Emphasis was placed on financial accountability and prudent management of costs related to registration, facility use, and other administrative expenses.

A range of action items were identified, including securing a dedicated community bank account, formalizing office space usage, exploring financial and narrative software solutions, and refining governance documents. Members were encouraged to deepen understanding of board responsibilities, stay engaged through communication platforms, and contribute ideas for expanding the Board of Directors.

The meeting closed with a shared commitment to collaboration, learning, and transparency. April 25 now holds special significance as TUFA Commemoration Day, celebrating the unity and vision of its founders.

TUFA Initiative invites stakeholders who resonate with its mission of transforming potential into prosperity to join in shaping a sustainable future, one collaborative step at a time.
